Cameron Boyce, known for his roles in Disney Channel’s Descendants and Jessie, died on July 7. The actor reportedly suffered from epilepsy and is thought to have died of a seizure in his sleep. An autopsy was recently completed, and an official cause of death is currently pending.

Dead at the age of just 20, the young star is survived by many close friends and family members who have spent the past week remembering his incredible spirit and loving character. His father recently broke his silence on the death of his son with a photo taken just hours before he passed.

“My son. Just hours before he was snatched from our lives. I miss him terribly. I hope that no one ever has to feel the agony I’m feeling but no one is immune to tragedy,” he wrote in an Instagram caption. Victor Boyce thanked everyone for the continued love and support his family has received following the tragedy.

“Thank you all for helping us through our worst possible situation,” he concluded.

Along with Victor’s heartbreaking post, longtime co-star and friend Debby Ryan shared photos of their years working together. “This ripped me up. I keep trying and I can’t make anything make sense,” she wrote on Instagram.

A heartfelt and lengthy caption praised Cameron for his incredible energy and “It’s wrong. I am so confused and devastated and angry. But that isn’t very Cam. He’d cast any shade of sadness or darkness in colors of positivity; he couldn’t help himself but to always leave you smiling, or laughing, or dancing. So sincere, kid Truth. He was good.”

Descendants co-star China Anne McClain also posted a tear-filled series of videos to her Instagram page. After apologizing for needing time to recover and process the news, China thanked Cameron for their years of friendship and sent her love to the Boyce family.
