Austin had a major four-wheeling accident in August 2017. He was ambulanced to the emergency department of Children’s Colorado, where he had exploratory surgery, which uncovered three tears in his colon.

After five days in the hospital, Austin went home. Soon after his one-month checkup, Austin had a terrible stomach ache, which led them back to the hospital. Doctors discovered a bowel obstruction due to scar tissue from the previous accident. A second surgery was successful, and the family now has a powerful, close relationship with their doctor at Children’s Colorado.

The youngest of four kids, Austin is an adventurous little boy, who tries to keep up with his older siblings.
