Today our Great Mate Debate couple is Maggie and Kevin and they need you to pick a side! Maggie and Kevin have been planning a family vacation with their 14-year-old daughter for quite some time. The vacation would entail leaving for four days in another state, but now Hannah is changing her mind and wants to stay home. Maggie, believing that her daughter is mature and responsible, thinks leaving her daughter behind would be no problem whatsoever. She says, Hannah has never gotten in trouble and never over-stepped her boundaries. Maggie thinks that leaving her home alone will be a great test before she enters high school in a few weeks. Kevin absolutely disagrees with Maggie’s outlook on the situation. He believes that four days alone with no friends or family in the area is too long and is just asking for trouble if they were to leave Hannah behind. Kevin explains that she, because of peer pressure from her new friends, would through a party at the house. He trusts his daughter, but not her new friends. He thinks something serious could happen and because she is so beautiful and receiving a lot of attention from boys that that could create a potential situation that Kevin doesn’t even want to ponder on.  Maggie thinks Kevin is just being paranoid and that if they put faith in their daughter, than she will put faith in them.

At what age is appropriate to leave a girl home alone? Whose side are you on?
