Today’s OPP is from Becca:

Yi,

My 14-year-old daughter has kept a diary for the last year or so. I’ve been reading it to keep tabs on her. I don’t read it every day, just when I happen to be in her room or she is acting strange over something. I was in there a few days ago and took a peek and learned that she went to her first party last month when she was supposed to be staying the night at a friend’s house. She drank and tried weed while she was there. That is a serious infraction at our house. My thing is, I don’t think I can confront her about it because then she’ll know I read her diary, and I never would have known if she didn’t put it in there. She didn’t get in any trouble and was acting fine when she got home the next morning. What do I do now? Do I admit I was snooping and punish her and potentially destroy the chances of her coming to me when she needs me in the future? Or do I just let it go for now?

Does Becca admit to snooping and punish her daughter? Or just let it go?
