Here is today's OPP:

Yi guys,

My wedding is coming up this summer and I’m still torn over taking his last name. There are a couple of reasons why. I’ve worked very hard to get where I’m at professionally and I feel like changing my name would really set me back in the workforce. And for that reason I don’t really want to hyphenate either. Also, my father is an only child and I am an only child, so there isn’t anyone else to carry on the name on this side of our family. My fiancé’s dad wasn’t really around so to him it’s only a name, but to me it’s a legacy. On the other hand, a lot of my friends that are already married have told me it will make life really difficult to have different last names. From bank accounts to insurance to naming our kids, we will constantly have to explain why we have different names. Should I take his last name or keep my own?

Is it important for a woman to take her husband last name, or is that an outdated tradition?
