Slacker and Steve - OPP: Wife Doesn’t Want to Move (Audio)

Today's OPP is from Ben:

Dear Slacker and Steve,

So I am needing some advice.  So the company I work for, had offered me a position in another state out East.  It would be the same rate of pay that I am currently making but a higher position . Since the other states economy is different I would not get a pay raise. The company is also willing to help cover some of the moving costs. When I spoke to my wife about everything she said No. I then took the time to show her an apartment we could afford that would be bigger and cost 400 dollars less a month in rent. She still wouldn't budge.  We have two young children one is about to start kindergarten and the other won't start preschool for another year. I work full time and my wife is a stay at home mom. I want to be able to give my kids the best chance in life and sadly it doesn't seem like it would happen out here; unless we get established and come back (I ran this idea past her as well only to be shot down). The four of us currently have no choice but to live in a one bedroom apartment and be on food stamps to survive.  I am not looking for a hand out but some advice as to what I should do.

Should Ben take the plunge anyway accept the job and move his family? Or, listen to his wife, wait it out and stay where he is?
