New research reveals retail therapy really does exist and it makes up more than a 20% of all shopping purchases. A new survey of 2,000 people across the country found that the average American polled spends a whopping $1,652 per year on purchases just to cheer themselves up. But while much of this shopping is completely necessary, people admit that more than 22% of their shopping is based much more in pleasure than in need. What have you purchased for your retail therapy?
