Maelle is unique for many reasons. She has an extremely rare tumor on her optic nerve. Because of its location, the tumor cannot be operated and is managed through chemotherapy. Maelle is about to finish her second round of treatment and the tumor has already shrunk an incredible 60 percent. While a success, treatment never comes without side effects. But throughout it all, Maelle dances through the halls, sings to the nurses and teases her parents. She is the Children’s Miracle Network Champion at Children’s Hospital Colorado for the second year in a row.
