At 6 months old, Sam suffered a stroke because ofan in-utero blood clot. Strokes affect multiple parts of the body. For Sam, it damaged the left side of his brain, weakening the right side of his body. Through intensive physical and occupational therapies, Sam improved his ability on the right side of his body and started the firstChildren’s Colorado Pediatric Stroke Support Group. He nowattends Colorado College and is a skier and climber.
